Facelift
A facelift or face lift (technically known as rhytidectomy) is a facial cosmetic surgery,designed to reduce or improve signs of aging in the lower and middle areas of the face. A facelift is usually performed as a same day surgery under anesthesia. A facelift or component facelift can be customized to treat those areas of the face where the signs of aging are the greatest. Facelifts and facial cosmetic surgery is one of the areas of concentration performed by Dr. Stephen Chidyllo at Central New Jersey Plastic Surgery.
All facelifts (face lifts) are not performed the same for each patient. Facelifts can be customized to treat just the lower face (lower facelift). In this region the neck is tightened (Necklift) and the jowels are raised and tightened. Those patients who require rejuvenation of the midface (cheeks) may benefit from a Midface Lift or MiniLift. With a Midface Lift the skin and underlying foundation and muscles are lifted, tightened and re-contoured. Of course the Midface and Lowerface can be treated together as in a Full Face and Necklift.
Facelifts and Necklifts are Facial Cosmetic Surgery which is commonly performed in conjunction with other Cosmetic Facial Surgery. A Browlift or Cosmetic Eyelid Surgery can be performed with a Facelift and or NeckLift. A Facelift is achieved by removing excess facial fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck.
Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery (technically called blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove fat--usually along with excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes The eyes and periocular area are usually the first regions of the face which show the signs of aging. Patients often state that friends say that they look, tired or angry in fact it is only their eyelids which give this impression. Cosmetic Eyelid surgery along with other types of Facial Cosmetic Surgery are an area of concentration for Dr. Stephen Chidyllo and Central New Jersey Plastic Surgery. Cosmetic Facial Surgery and eyelid surgery are commonly performed in conjunction with FaceLifts and Neck Lifts. Facial Cosmetic Surgery is a same day surgery which is performed under anesthesia.
Cosmetic Upper Eyelid surgery can be performed without the lower eyelids in patients which are only concerned with their upper eyelid appearance. Lower Eyelid surgery can be performed in patients in which there is fatty bulges of the lower eyelids or excessive eyelid skin. More commonly at Central New Jersey Plastic Surgery Dr. Stephen Chidyllo recommends that both the upper and lower eyelids be performed together.
Chin Surgery
Chin surgery, also known as mentoplasty, is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin either by enhancement with an implant or reduction surgery on the bone. Dr. Stephen Chidyllo at Central New Jersey Plastic Surgery is one of a few plastic surgeons world wide who is dual trained in both plastic surgery and dentistry. This added education, training and experience is essential when dealing with patients who might also have a deformity of their dental occulsion (bite) which might contribute to either a too large or small chin. In patients with a too small or weak chin, a chin augmentation or implant may be recommended. In some cases this too small chin is due to the fact that the lower jaw or mandible is positioned to far back in comparison to the upper jaw. In cases where the patient has a too large chin, a chin reduction surgery may be recommended. In these patients the large chin may also be contributed to by the fact that the lower jar is too far forward in relations to the upper jaw.
There are many other forms of Facial Cosmetic Surgery which are commonly performed in conjunction with a mentoplasty. At Central New Jersey Plastic Surgery Dr. Stephen Chidyllo may recommend that liposuction of the neck be performed along with a mentoplasty in order to re-contour the skin and fat about the chin region.
